The Bravehearts were selected in the Spring of 2010 at open tryouts in North Irvine. Thirtysix boys participated in a two day tryouts. Three independent coaches were evaluating the players. Fifteen boys were selected for the PLUS/FLEX EXTRA team to represent North Irvine – AYSO Region 213 in this (U-13) age group in the Fall 2011 - Spring 2012 season.

The Bravehearts have five coaches. Two main coaches are required to be Advanced Certified by AYSO - the highest rated training and comparable to a USSF D license. Main coaches were selected by an executive committee based on experience, background, and their standing as qualified representatives of Region 213.
